True Kansas City style sauce is never sweet. Gates has a strong black pepper tang, Bryant's is gritty with paprika and has the heat of cayenne pepper. I like both of these sauces but Mr. Harris had the best blend. His sauce was tomato rich, had a vinegar tang and a pepper bite but was smooth and surprisingly delicate. Too bad, Mr. Harris died in the mid Seventies and took his sauce with him.
Tuck Shop's principal selling point is their pies; meat pies, "chook pies" (chicken, ham, leeks in white gravy), lamb shank curry and vege pie, vegetable pie, Thai green chook curry pie, and the Guinness steak and mushroom pie, as their principal foods. They also have daily specials, rolls, sangers (sandwiches) salads, sides, and dessert. Moreover they serve breakfast at Tuck Shop, "the Aussie way with locally raised/organic eggs." While I hope there are no egg farms in the East Village, I might not put it past neighboring Chinatown.
Guyana - Duck, chicken or lamb curry with rice are the main dishes for the birthday celebration. A family member bakes a fruit, black or sponge for the birthday girl/boy to cut. The birthday person will wear something fancy.
When my meal arrived I really wanted to eat it there in order to get the full experience of the atmosphere. Unfortunately I had to leave, but felt obligated to try the spinach pie in the car.
Of course not curried lamb everything you cook has to be high-pressure. You can use the Cuisinart Pressure Cooker's push button controls to set the cooker for warming, simmering, browning and sauteing. Whatever heat setting your recipe calls for, the Cuisinart can handle it.
Neither Mezze nor mild lamb curry The Fat Lady is a club in the strict sense of the word. Rather they are two of my favorite bars that happen to be located in restaurants, really good restaurants. Both of these bars are places where you can sit and have a great drink, surrounded by other folks doing the same. Or you can sit, have a great drink or a glass of wine, and order dinner from the menu to eat at the bar. Don't you love that?
Add the coconut milk at the end and bring it to the boil. To thicken the curry please add corn flour in a small bowl and add half a cup of water. Mix this and then pour it into the pot and stir unto the curry thickens. Garnish with some fresh cream and coriander.
